Student Profiles - Personal Impressions of College Aeronautical Programs
Come meet four recent Tri-Valley high school graduates who are now attending aviation/aeronautical/aerospace colleges in different parts of the U.S. These students will be home for the holidays and want to help inform & inspire other students considering the same path. There will be a lengthy Q&A session after these students give their personal stories. If weather permits, we'll have a BBQ lunch on the tarmac or in the hangar afterwards.
These students are current enrolled in aviation programs with the following institutions:
US Air Force - Fabio Salvioni (graduate of Foothill HS)
University of North Dakota - Kevin Kohnke (graduate of Foothill HS)
Embry-Riddle University - Yianni Constantinides (graduate of Dublin HS)
San Jose State University - Elvin Cui (graduate of Foothill HS) - also enrolled in Air Force ROTC program
They will cover topics such as:
- Their career aspirations
- Steps they took in high school to prepare for their chosen career path
- The most important criteria in picking the program on which they decided
- Some questions budding aviators need to think about before deciding which program to pursue
- Personal impressions of the programs so far
- Q&A - They'll answer questions from the audience.
Three of these students were seniors at Foothill High School who attended the elective Aerospace Engineering class offered through the school's Project Lead The Way (PLTW) engineering program. The elective Aerospace Engineering class was first offered in the 2016-2017 school year. It is being offered every other year. So, the next time it will be offered is September of 2018.
Join us on Saturday, November 30th to hear their personal stories about what it takes to pursue an aeronautical career.
