Feel free to contact Tom Manger if you want assistance starting or completing a scholarship application. We are committed to getting as many new pilots trained and in the air as possible. And, we're committed to helping as many people as possible to pursue new careers in aviation & aerospace. Paying for these pursuits is a big hurdle for most people. So, let us help you achieve your goals!
TIPS FOR APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
- Don't wait until the last minute. Some of these applications require essays, references, transcripts and other time consuming items. You'll need plenty of lead time to gather all of that info.
- Many of these scholarships are for very specific areas. Read the descriptions and requirements very carefully.
- There are a lot of wannabe pilots & engineers who have started training and given up. In fact, the student pilot drop out rate is 80%. (Money is usually the biggest hurdle.) These scholarship programs need to know that if you receive funding, you have the interest and ambition to follow through to completion. We're here to help!
- Tell a story. In replying to application questions, make it clear that your interests are earnest and that you have the gumption and fortitude to follow through to completion. You will be asked about activities, people, and groups that support you in your efforts. Your response needs to tell the story of your aspirations and your plans to get there.
- You don't have to be perfect. Within the aviation and aerospace industries, there is room for a wide range of interests and capabilities. Figure out what you can realistically achieve and make steps to get there. There are plenty of people out there to help you along the way - us included!
- When "multiple" is listed below, it usually denotes a series of multiple scholarships that are managed by a single organization. Many of these allow you to apply to multiple scholarships with a single online application form. This is a great way to "multiply" your efforts.
